Work-Related Injuries

In the event of a work-related injury, a supervisor should be notified and an accident report completed, regardless of the need for treatment.

If the injury occurs on the main campus, Public Safety should be contacted (734-973-3411). Public Safety will take a report and make a recommendation to seek further evaluation and/or treatment if needed.  (At an extension site, the supervisor will make the recommendation for evaluation and/or treatment if needed).

Employees must notify their supervisor when reporting an injury to Public Safety. The College is under contract with Concentra Urgent Care to provide occupational medical services including treatment for work related injuries and illnesses. All initial evaluations regarding work related injuries and illnesses will be conducted through Concentra Urgent Care. Authorization for examination or treatment will be required.

  • Muscle pulls or strains
  • Fractures

Authorization for examination or treatment will be verified by Human Resources or Public Safety. An employee seeking treatment can contact Human Resources (734-973-3497) during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).  During non-business hours, Public Safety will authorize treatment (734-973-3411).  If a non-emergency injury/illness occurs at an extension site, the supervisor will authorize treatment.
