About Cheryl Harvey
Cheryl Harvey is the Director of College and Career Readiness at Washtenaw Community College (WCC), where she oversees programming and operations at the Parkridge Community Center on Ypsilanti’s south side, as well as instructional classes at WCC’s Ellsworth extension site.
Previously, Cheryl managed the Center for Career Success at WCC for more than eight years. Before joining the college, she served as the Director of Career Services at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Troy for over five years. Her earlier career includes working with the U.S. Department of Commerce as the Assistant Regional Recruiting Coordinator for the U.S. Census Bureau, where she successfully recruited more than 250,000 individuals for temporary census positions across Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Cheryl also spent over 11 years managing multimillion-dollar contracts for UAW-Ford, GM, and Chrysler, delivering high-quality work/family programs for both union and management employees.
She earned her Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Eastern Michigan University and her Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. Cheryl is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she served on the executive board for nine years, and currently serves as Vice President of the Board for Friends in Deed, a nonprofit organization based in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Outside of her professional roles, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and engaging in community service.
